Finley Creek Vineyards celebrates its first year

Lots of fun summer festivities are happening at Finley Creek Vineyards, now celebrating our first year!

Fans of Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering are happy to host their wedding receptions, family reunions, corporate retreats, and holiday parties in a lovely, rustic setting just 20 minutes from Indy’s Northwest side in Zionsville.

As the private special event venue for Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering, the Finley Creek grounds are just as well appointed and lovely as you would expect for a facility we own.

The main interior Party Barn is definitely a ‘wow!’ The space is plenty large enough for up to 300, but with the lovely flower and vegetable gardens and large oak trees along the rolling countryside just outside the barn, groups are just as happy to enjoy the outside as they do our inside – especially this time of year.

The barn walls are covered with reclaimed rustic barn wood. Tall windows let in lots of natural light. And large wrought iron and crystal chandeliers hang from the rafters. The result is as the retro chic and first-class – oozing with warmth and charm.

Owner Jacquie Bols wants every meal cooked and prepared to perfection – right on site. The staff of Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering takes care to prepare sustainable and organic foods, some grown in our gardens, and all prepared in our state-of-the-art kitchen on premises.

Just outside the Finley Creek Barn are hand-hewn cedar and pine porch tables for casual dining outside. A little farther away is a much-used fire pit, plus pergola and patio surrounded by flowers, perfect for weddings.

And yes, as our name suggests, there is a working vineyard in progress. We planted last past year and hope to harvest our first grapes in a few more seasons. Stay tuned!

Outside or inside – or both –Finley Creek Vineyards is a stunning place for your next event. It’s not too soon to book fall and holiday events!

Perfect Inside/Outside D’Angelo wedding

After meeting with Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering staff and visiting the indoor and outdoor facilities at Finley Creek Vineyards, Katherine D’Angelo non-hesitatingly set up her Saturday wedding reception at Finley Creek for one hundred guests.

Nothing very special about that. Except -- that Finley Creek Vineyards has some pretty fabulous exterior and interior expanses to it’s name, which came in pretty handy when planning an event in May. Nice to know you can easily head inside to a gorgeously appointed party barn, or be outside – enjoying natural floral, almost pastoral acreage.

Turns out, Katherine’s day required both. Her wedding ceremony was outside – ending with brief light rainshowers – but preparations had been made, and umbrellas were on hand for all guests.

Once the “I dos” were said, everyone headed into the party barn for cocktail hour, followed by a tasty sit-down dinner, and then a reception lasting well into the evening hours.

Here is Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering menu for Katherine's special day   :

BUTLERED HORS D'OEUVRES

SALAD

Mixed Organic Field Greens with Pecans, Cranberries, Goat Cheese and Champagne or Balsamic Dressing

ENTREE

And for the vegetarian guests, a Traditional Roasted Ratatouille Lasagna with Basil Pesto and Ricotta.

Katherine’s perfect day succeeded without a hitch – despite the light rain – and created a wonderful memory for all in attendance.

Life is blooming here at Finley Creek!

The grounds of Finley Creek Vineyards is every bit as glorious and charming as the interior of our Wedding Barn. That is especially wonderful to consider if you are looking for a place to hold your late spring or summer wedding reception.

Because Finley Creek Vineyards is  just outside of Northwest Indy in lovely Zionsville, our property is private and lush, well away from the hubbub of suburban and city life.

We are always looking for new ways to add to the ambience of our beautiful grounds. Last year, we added two beehives way in the back – away from our buildings – to help keep our planned flower and vegetable gardens fertilized, healthy and thriving.

This spring, we are planting hosta, astilbe, anemone, hellebores, foam flower, coral bell, and stargazer lilies around our stately oak trees.

Not only will the flowers smell amazing during outdoor events and receptions, but they will look stunning, too. We chose flower varieties with flower timing in mind, so there will always be something in bloom no matter what early spring or late summer month you choose for your gathering.

Finley Creek Vineyards will have a grape arbor, too. Those plantings will go in soon, as will new vegetable gardens. The bees will be happy …and busy. Soon, we’ll be harvesting honey from the flowers’ nectar as well!

Also new this year at Finley Creek – a lovely outdoor stone fireplace – perfect for intimate gatherings around evening bonfires.

There’s a lot to like at Finley Creek, both inside and outside. We invite you to come visit this exclusive Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering venue. Whether you plan your event for inside or out -- or both -- we know you are going to have a delicious and memorable time!

Finley Creek Vineyards springs a lovely wedding reception

Mary Ann Harrison and Jared Owen tapped early Spring on the shoulder ...and asked it to reserve a sunny Saturday in mid-March for her wedding reception at Finley Creek Vineyards.

The pre-Spring weather cooperated, and the event space was perfect for the kind of relaxed late afternoon reception the couple had in mind.

The Harrison-Owen reception began at 4:00 PM by welcoming family and friends to Finley Creek's rustic splendor. With an open bar and generous appetizers inside the beautifully decorated Finley Creek barn, guests dipped into sumptuous appetizers:

Three Layer Pesto Torte with crackers, butler-served Mushrooms Stuffed with Spinach and Parmesan Cheese, and an assortment of Mini Quiches.

After everyone had a chance to mingle, a spring buffet dinner was served:

There were a few children in attendance, and they were not forgotten. Easy to eat Chicken Fingers, Carrot Sticks, and Fruit Cups were quickly gobbled down.

After a lovely dinner, the bar was re-opened and the celebrating went on into the night as any fun reception should (hello dancing and music in the wide open rustic-chic barn!) The group paused to cut the cake (by Classic Cakes of Carmel) and toast to the new couple. Then back to dancing and  a fantastic selection of desserts!

Congratulations to Mary Anne and Jared, and the Harrison-Owen families!
