Finley Creek hosts Celebration of Life
Some 65 guests, family and friends of an Indianapolis family, joined together at Finley Creek Vineyards earlier this month for a Celebration of Life.
The weather accommodated nicely, as guests began to gather at 4:00 P.M. The event lasted well beyond the initial hours listed as these gatherings often do, allowing time for family members to arrive, share stories, and catch up with out of town friends and family.
Jacquie’s team was tasked with preparing many family favorite dishes, as well as foods to comfort and bring back pleasant memories.
Together with the family, Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering decided to put together multiple food stations, to make sure there was room for social distancing – and plenty to eat.
STATION I served:
- Charcuterie Cones with meats from Smoking Goose including sliced cheeses, fruits, olives, pickles, and imported crackers
- Bourbon Chicken Skewers
- Mini Fennel and Apple Salad with Shaved Ricotta
- Insalata served in a Mini Martini Glass
- Indiana Corn Cake with Creme Fraiche and Mango Salsa
STATION II included:
- Korean Barbeque Brisket Sliders with Soy Slaw
- Roasted Tomato Bruschetta
- Trio of Organic Devilled Eggs with Micro Greens
- Mini Mac and Cheese with Prosciutto
- Smoked Apple Cheddar served in a Mini Iron Skillet
STATION III offered lighter fare:
- Fruit Skewers
- Blackberry and Mint Brownie Parfaits in a Shot Glass
- Coffee Station
The BAR served Premium Liquor, Domestic and Imported Beer, a selection of wine, and Soft Drinks
The lovely and low-key setting allowed guests to drift outside for cocktails and talk, or gather around tables indoors, with plenty of choices to nibble – or feast.
All agreed it was a warm and generous tribute to a beloved family member, much-missed.
